UMPSA celebrates Integrity Month and launches Organisational Anti-Corruption Strategy (OACS) book

GAMBANG, 22 October 2024 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) today celebrated Integrity Month and launched the Organisational Anti-Corruption Strategy (OACS) book at the university level.

The Integrity Day celebration, held annually, aims to instil awareness among civil servants and the general public about the importance of continuously practising noble values and integrity.

It also aims to achieve the goal of being free from corruption and misconduct at all times and under all circumstances, with this year’s theme being “Strong Integrity, Solid Nation.”

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, stated that the policies and guidelines outlined represent UMPSA’s collective commitment to enhancing governance, internal controls, and the appreciation and practice of integrity, especially among UMPSA staff.

“I would like to invite all of us to continue working collectively to ensure that the integrity agenda remains a priority.

“We must realise that integrity is not a choice but the foundation for every decision, action, and responsibility we undertake,” he said.

Meanwhile, according to the Registrar, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, the Organisational Anti-Corruption Strategy (OACS) book was successfully published as a result of the high commitment of the committee throughout the development process of UMPSA’s OACS.

“The workshops held in two sessions, namely the UMPSA Corruption Risk Assessment Workshop conducted on 26 and 27 February 2024, were successfully carried out, enabling us to take a step forward in developing this Anti-Corruption Plan,” he said.

Today’s event witnessed Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin launched the UMPSA-level Integrity Month Celebration and the Organisational Anti-Corruption Strategy (OACS) Book, witnessed by the Registrar, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim, and the Head of the Integrity and Compliance Unit, Nurul Syahida Suhaimin.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed; Treasurer, Dato’ Zainuddin Othman; Chief Librarian, Kamariah Gono; and Chief Executive Officer of UMPSA Advanced, Dr. Ahmad Johari Mohamad.
