UMPSA distributes 4,500 free breakfast packs during exam week

PEKAN, 27 June 2024 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) is distributing 4,500 free breakfast packs to its students during the Semester 2 Final Examination Week of the 2023/2024 Academic Session, which starts on 24 June and runs until 10 July 2024.

The distribution of breakfast packs starts at 8.00 am every day at the Multipurpose Hall, UMPSA Pekan, and at the Hall of the University Sports Complex, UMPSA Gambang Campus.

The breakfast packs were distributed by UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, at the Universiti Sports Complex Hall, UMPSA Gambang Campus.

Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie said this free breakfast for students is one of the initiatives to look after the welfare of students.

"UMPSA is committed to and concerned about the needs of students ahead of the exam season.

"This free breakfast initiative has been carried out since 2022.

"It is a convenience for the students in facing the exam and serves as a sign of the university's moral support for the students to focus more on their exams," he said.

The distribution of free breakfasts is expected to benefit more than 4,000 students at UMPSA.

A Faculty of Computing (FK) student, Sandhia a/p Pichan, said this free breakfast helps students focus more when answering the exam due to time constraints, as they can eat before entering the exam hall.

"This initiative is very good because I can have breakfast before answering the exam, and it helps me to focus more while in the exam hall," she said.

Similarly, according to third-year student from FK, Nur Syamila Nabilah Mohd Sanosi, she hopes that this initiative will continue because it can help ease the burden on students, especially towards the end of the semester.

"For me, this initiative is very good because we always don't have time to have breakfast, and towards the end of the semester, most students will have financial constraints.

"Therefore, this initiative can lighten the burden on the students a little," she said.

The distribution of these free breakfast packs is managed by the Funding, Welfare, and Discipline Unit, Department of Student & Alumni Affairs (JHEPA) of UMPSA, in collaboration with the Student Representative Council (MPP) of UMPSA.
