UMPSA engages with UMPSA-BJTU dual degree students undergoing industrial training at Liuzhou Railway Technical and Vocational College, China
LIUZHOU, CHINA, 11 June 2025 – Students of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) who are currently enrolled in the UMPSA–Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) dual-degree programmes were thrilled to meet with representatives of the university’s management recently in Liuzhou, China.
UMPSA Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman was present at the session with students who are currently undergoing industrial training at Liuzhou Railway Technical and Vocational College (LRVTC), China.
Currently, a total of 25 second-cohort students of the UMPSA–BJTU dual-degree programmes in railway engineering, comprising electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering, are undergoing industrial training there for ten weeks starting from 21 May.
According to Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, the opportunity allowed UMPSA to directly observe the activities and routines carried out by students in handling high-tech equipment in the field and laboratories of LRVTC.
In addition, he observed the students’ activities and offered words of encouragement, enabling them to make the most of the opportunities and experiences during their industrial training at LRVTC.
At the same time, he exchanged views and shared updates on the university’s development with the students.
The meeting session with the students was held in conjunction with his official visit to China to participate in the AMG-NEXTGEN: Mobility Programme to Liuzhou Railway Technical and Vocational College, China 2025 – ‘Shaping Global Leaders Through Academic Excellence’, a collaboration between the Al-Sultan Abdullah Foundation (YASA) and UMPSA.
Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr Ahmad Ziad, who also serves as Manager of Akademi Menara Gading (AMG), led the delegation comprising 30 of AMG’s top students along with 13 school principals.
The delegation visited LRVTC to gain exposure to advanced technologies in the fields of railway, electric vehicles (EV), and artificial intelligence (AI).
This programme aims to empower students with knowledge and global experience in the rapidly advancing fields of science and engineering.
