UMPSA improves position in QS World University Rankings 2025

PEKAN, 5 June 2024 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has successfully elevated its position in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) 2025, securing a place in the 741-750 range globally, compared to 781-790 in 2024.

UMPSA ranks among the top 741 universities worldwide out of 1,503 eligible institutions listed in the rankings.

According to UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, the university's improved performance in the QS WUR 2025 is attributed to strategic initiatives outlined in the UMPSA Strategic Plan 2021-2025, emphasizing quality higher education and research.

"UMPSA's achievement is particularly notable in the Citation Indicator of Each Faculty, where we rank among the top 383 globally, demonstrating our commitment to high-quality and productive research," he stated.

UMPSA has also secured the ninth position among Malaysia's 17 public universities eligible for ranking and leads as the top university within the Malaysian Technical Universities Network (MTUN).

Furthermore, UMPSA holds the first position among Malaysian universities under 25 years old, highlighting its excellence as a young university.

This achievement underscores UMPSA's dedication to advancing knowledge, fostering research, and driving innovation.

Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie expressed gratitude for the unwavering dedication of UMPSA's staff, the excellence of its students and alumni, and the strategic collaborations with public and private sectors that have contributed to this success.

"In this latest ranking, UMPSA has elevated its global standing, further enhancing our reputation and credibility worldwide.

"This accomplishment reflects our continuous commitment to enhancing educational quality, expanding international networks, nurturing talent, and achieving remarkable outcomes," he emphasized.

Moreover, this improved ranking reflects robust support from governmental agencies, industries, and the community, underscoring their steadfast partnership with UMPSA in pursuit of excellence.

With this achievement, UMPSA remains steadfast in its mission to advance higher education in Malaysia and globally.

The university will continue to prioritize high-impact research, expand collaborations with renowned institutions worldwide, and provide an innovative learning environment to prepare skilled and competitive graduates.

In the latest evaluation, a total of 28 public and private universities in Malaysia were included.
