UMPSA Maulidur Rasul celebration marked with vibrancy and colour

PEKAN, 9 October 2024 - The Maulidur Rasul celebration at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) was marked with a colourful parade themed 'Al-Falah Pemacu Malaysia MADANI'.

The event began with a procession of university members from the Library to the UMPSA Mosque, joined by 700 participants across 28 contingents from each Responsibility Centre. 

They recited blessings while carrying banners symbolizing their love and affection for Prophet Muhammad SAW.

The celebration was also honoured by the presence of UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, who greeted the parade participants before officially opening the Maulidur Rasul Celebration Ceremony at the UMPSA Mosque.

In his speech, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie highlighted that this year’s Maulidur Rasul celebration emphasises a holistic concept of success, involving well-being, balance, and continuous development.

"In our efforts to achieve a Civilised Malaysia, Al-Falah invites the community to work together to build a prosperous, just, and integrity-driven nation that encompasses Social Well-Being, a Competitive Economy, Environmental Sustainability, and Community Harmony, promoting noble values and unity in our multi-racial society,” he stated.

"The spirit of Maulidur Rasul also inspires everyone to strive for success and progress, not only in worldly matters but also in spiritual growth, while continuing to follow His Majesty's example."

Present at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Professor Ts. Dr. Aida Mustapha; Registrar, Dato' Saiful Bahari Ahmad Bakarim; Assistant Vice-Chancellor of Industry and Community Linkages, Professor Datin Ts. Dr. Mimi Sakinah Abdul Munaim; and Director of the Islamic and Human Development Centre (PIMPIN), Dr. Rashidi Abbas.

The programme saw the parade competition won by the Treasurer's Department, with the Chancellor's Department and the Office of the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Academic Development taking second and third places, respectively.

A Special Lecture was also delivered by Ustaz Muhammad Syaari Abdul Rahman.
