UMPSA organises Road Safety Campaign ‘Pandu Cermat Sampai Selamat’
GAMBANG, 4 April 2024 - A total of about 600 Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah students received benefits from the ‘Pandu Cermat Sampai Selamat’ Road Safety Campaign starting from 4 to 6 April 2024.
This programme was carried out in conjunction with the time to go back to the village for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
The campaign organised by the Student Affairs and Alumni Department in collaboration with Yayasan UMPSA and UMPSA Students’ Representative Council included a safety briefing, provision of vests and sharing of safety information as well as the donation of petrol to 250 motorcycles and 40 cars belonging to students in Pekan and Gambang campuses.
The programme was officiated by the Minister of Higher Education, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir in conjunction with his visit to UMPSA through a series of tours of the MoHE’s Minister Semarak Ramadan Programme to Public Institutions of Higher Learning (IPTA).
Also present were the Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Dato’ Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Rusllim Mohamed, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman and MPP President, Muhammad Haykal Halid.
This campaign aimed to provide awareness about road safety for UMPSA students to always be careful while on the road, especially ahead of this festive season.
The donation of petrol was also given as an initiative to ease the burden on students.
