UMPSA Students’ Open Day 2025 ignites students’ spirit to become more creative, competitive, and with integrity

GAMBANG, 12 October 2025 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Students’ Open Day 2025 was held with great enthusiasm at the Sports Complex Hall, UMPSA Gambang Campus.

The programme, organised by the UMPSA Students’ Representative Council (MPP) in collaboration with the A.D.A.B Academy and the Student Affairs and Alumni Department (JHEPA), was held in conjunction with the 20th UMPSA Convocation Expo.

A total of 105 student body booths participated in introducing various clubs, associations, and university cores to the visitors.

Various exciting activities also enlivened the event, including new member recruitment presentations by student bodies, a mock accident demonstration by SISPA, an anti-bullying awareness talk, lucky draws, as well as cultural and artistic performances by student groups such as Kencana Pawana, Srikala Satria, UMPSA Chinese Traditional Dance, and Bornean Melody.

UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Yatimah Alias, expressed appreciation to the MPP and all parties involved in the successful organisation of the UMPSA Students’ Open Day 2025.

“The organisation of such a programme is not only a platform for students to introduce their respective clubs and associations, but also reflects the spirit of leadership, creativity, and togetherness within the campus community.

“This Students’ Open Day is the best platform to explore students’ potential and leadership talents.

“I believe that active involvement of students in club and association activities will help shape outstanding character and add value to their overall university experience,” she said.

Professor Dr. Yatimah also urged UMPSA students to continue showcasing their identity as a generation of knowledge, manners, and integrity, in line with the university’s aspiration to produce holistic and globally competitive graduates.

This programme serves as an important platform to highlight the role of student bodies and showcase the spirit of students in shaping a campus community that is creative, competitive, and with integrity.

The ceremony witnessed student clubs and associations being awarded under various categories, including SUKSIS, UMPBot, Signa Melody, In-Smartive, SEHIMSAK, MechaPro, Espansia, and PEKA 3.

Also present were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs), Professor Dato’ Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman; Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) (Student Development), Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Nizam Mohmad Kahar; and Registrar, Dato’ Saiful Bahri Ahmad Bakarim.

Also in attendance were the Director of the A.D.A.B Academy, ChM. Dr. Siti Umairah Mokhtar, and Programme Director of the Students’ Open Day 2025, Arvind Pathmanathan.
