The ceremony was further enlivened by the presence of the Minister of Higher Education, Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, who delivered his mandate to KPT staff, emphasising the importance of strengthening commitment in driving the national higher education agenda.

Also present were the Secretary-General of MOHE, Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim; the Director-General of Higher Education, Datuk Professor Dr. Azlinda Azman; the ministry’s top management; as well as vice-chancellors of public universities.

According to Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias, programmes such as this not only enliven Ramadan but also provide a platform to strengthen the bonds of ukhuwah among ministry staff and higher education institutions.

“Ramadan is the best month for us to strengthen the values of togetherness, mutual care, and closer ties among members of the higher education community in our collective effort to uphold institutional excellence and the development of the nation’s human capital.

“The spirit of ukhuwah nurtured through programmes such as this also supports the university’s aspiration in building an inclusive, high-integrity, and human values-based higher education ecosystem,” she said.

The programme began with a bubur lambuk cooking session officiated by Datuk Dr. Anesee Ibrahim together with the Managing Director and Founder of Al-Malik Marquee & Catering AMC (D’Tandoor), Abdul Malik Abdullah, before the bubur lambuk was distributed to ministry staff as a symbolic Ramadan tradition that fosters the culture of sharing blessings.

The ceremony also featured a Ramadan tazkirah titled ‘Golongan yang Rugi’ delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohd Izhar Ariff Mohd Kashim, who emphasised the importance of making full use of the month of Ramadan by increasing acts of worship and strengthening piety.

The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of Aidilfitri contributions to 30 recipients among ministry staff consisting of single mothers or fathers, asnaf, persons with disabilities (PWD), and those with chronic illnesses, as a sign of concern for staff welfare.

The programme concluded with Maghrib congregational prayers and a collective iftar ceremony held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, further strengthening the spirit of ukhuwah among members of the nation’s higher education community.
