Arshada Nadia wins UMPSA Student Exemplary Award
KUANTAN, 18 May 2024 - A student of Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering Technology (Robotics) with Honours, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Arshada Nadia Abdullah, was named the recipient of the Student Exemplary Award at the recent Mercu Sanjung Award Ceremony (MARS).
Sharing her feelings when receiving this award, Arshada, a girl born in Shah Alam, Selangor, expressed deep gratitude to Allah for this award.
“I am grateful and did not think this award was mine because there were many more potential candidates, but I am confident of my abilities and Alhamdulillah Allah’s provision is vast.
“This award is for Umi and Ayah because they are my backbone in everything I strive for,” she said.
Asking further about her achievements, this third child felt that everything was thanks to His sustenance and prayers from her parents, lecturers and friends.
“The selection of the winner is entirely the responsibility of the management, and I am only trying to submit for nomination.
“In my opinion, it is probably because of my involvement throughout 2023.
“I participated in many programmes organised within and outside UMPSA regardless of the regional, state, national and international levels,” she said.
With this involvement, she has brought the UMPSA name to the world.
Arshada represented UMPSA in the Bumiputera Economic Congress and presented there.
She was also actively involved in international programmes and carried the UMPSA name into the international field.
She was invited to represent UMPSA at the UK-MUC International Student Consortium and won a gold medal at the competition.
She hopes that more and more students will take the opportunity to represent UMPSA in international competitions and programmes that can not only make the university proud but also improve professional branding and marketability.
Once named a MARA TVET Icon and a Top 100 Young Asia Talent Award, Arshada said this award had a positive impact on her.
“I will be more motivated to improve myself and improve my soft skills so that I can face the challenges out there.
“I am also determined to continue this struggle to inspire more people around me,” she said.
She is now in Year 3 of her study at the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering Technology (FTKPM) and is also actively representing UMPSA in the Maybank Student Ambassador 2024 programme and Axiata Digital Leaders Programme 2024.
The Mercu Sanjung Award Ceremony (MARS), UMPSA is an annual event to recognise students who have shown holistic and competent leadership in line with strategic initiatives to produce holistic graduates and has taken place with prestige at Zenith Hotel, Kuantan.
