FK students take consolation prize in Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023

KUALA LUMPUR, 24 November 2022 - The Faculty of Computing (FK), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) team, comprising Chin Yung Chee, Nur Atiqah Kamal and Amir Muhammad Hafiz Othman successfully took home a consolation prize worth RM600 in the Huawei ICT Competition 2022-2023 competition held at the Parkroyal Collection Hotel Kuala Lumpur recently.

Chin Yung Chee, the team leader, said she prepared early by researching the materials provided by the team’s coach and tutor, Dr. Anis Farihan Mat Raffei.

“We also study the necessary courses according to the topics in the competition.

“In addition, we follow the strategy developed by FK senior lecturer who is the team manager, Ts. Dr. Hoh Wei Siang and provide all the necessary tools for this competition,” she said.

She said this success was driven by the enthusiasm the tutor and team manager gave, in addition to teamwork as the main factor of the success.

Through this competition, her group successfully participated in the Huawei ICT Associate (HCIA) professional certification programme.

For Ts. Dr. Hoh Wei Siang, this competition could nurture local ICT talent and develop ICT leaders for future generations.

“In addition, it increases the efficiency and creativity of students in mastering the ICT field,” he said.
