UMP and Hebei University, a decade together

It has been a decade for Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) to collaborate with Hebei Universitiy (HBU) since the establishment of Mandarin Language & Culture Centre (MLCC) in 2011. With the support of the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and HBU, MLCC was upgraded to Confucius Institute in 2018.

Ts. Dr. Waheb creates Narrowband Internet of Things Enabled Flood Monitoring and Warning System

A lecturer from the Faculty of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technology (FTKEE), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Ts. Dr. Waheb Abdul Jabbar Shaif Abdullah, 42, created a system called Narrowband Internet of Things Enabled Flood Monitoring and Warning System (NB-IoT FMWS).

The lecturer, who hails from Yemen, plans to design and create the world’s first NB-IoT FMWS.

The system aims to minimise or extinguish human risk during the flood season in Malaysia.

Malay Martial Arts

Malay martial arts, Silat becomes one of the national heritages, registered under Intangible Cultural Heritage. Silat is an art that exists in the Malay Archipelago. Many studies about this art agree that Silat existed since the early of Langkasuka Kingdom (2nd century).

Today, Silat is recognised not only for martial art but also for a combative sports game. There are 548 associations registered under the Persatuan Silat Kebangsaan Malaysia or the National Silat Federation of Malaysia.

6 categories of students to return to UMP in stages starting 6 March

KUANTAN, 5 February 2021 - Only six categories of students are allowed to return to the campus based on a pre-set schedule in ensuring the teaching and learning (T&L) activities can proceed effectively.

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) is ready to receive students physically to the campus from 6 March to resume Semester II, 2020/2021, which is scheduled to begin online on 1 March.
