UMP ranked 134th in Asia

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) achieved a remarkable accomplishment when ranked at 134th spot in Asia in the recently released QS Asia University Rankings 2020.The continuous climb in five consecutive years also makes UMP as the first university in the Malaysian Technological University Network (MTUN) to place itself in the 150 best universities in Asia.UMP had climbed 54 spots this year from 188th last year.

UMP students responsibly elect leaders

The students of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) are now more mature in choosing their representatives.There was a change in the campus political landscape when the election was run fully by a committee comprising students solely.

The chairman of the Student Election Council 2019/2020, Mohamed Al-Fateh Ab Razak was relieved when the election run smoothly at both the UMP Gambang and Pekan campuses on 28 November 2019.

MTUN – Industry smart partnership produce technical expert

Malaysia Technical University Network (MTUN) is urged to continue working with the industry to ensure research output is beneficial to address industry related issues. According to Deputy Director General, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Professor Dr. Mohd Cairul Iqbal Mohd Amin, universities smart partnership particularly with MTUN should be intensified to encourage the industry to conduct research studies using the university's expertise and equipment as practiced in developed countries. 

The Importance of Data Analysis in Business

Having the means for data analysis in a business can increase the value and profit of a company in the future. In fact, in the present digital era, security aspect and digital innovation have become essential features for an organisation to compete in a healthy way. According to Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAS) Business Intelligent Insights data analyst Parjit Singh Ranjeet Singh, data analysis could also be used for human resource development such as in terms of division of work and matching the task according to skills of the staff.

UNITEN delegates visit UMP

A total of 22 Universiti Tenaga National (UNITEN) Library staff members attended a visit to the UMP Library and UMP Press on December 6, 2019. The UNITEN delegation was led by Head of e-Resources Unit, UNITEN Information Resources Centre, Mohd. Yazid Muji and welcomed by Acting Chief Librarian, Dzull Zabarrod Ahmad and UMP Press Director, Ts. Dr. Muhamad Mat Noor.

Mustaf - international student fluent in Malay

Seeing earthy character that no one thought Mustaf Mohamed, 23, a Somali national and international students have the nationality of the United Kingdom's interests and fluent in Malay.

"I also like to be friends with Malaysian friends and when playing football together it gives me a chance to remember more languages and be closer to them," he said in an evening's sports interest.

In fact, he is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree active in public speaking activities.
