In addition, he said, the value of willingness to try and explore new things, along with self-confidence possessed by UMPSA graduates, is an advantage that greatly impacts their career development.
“Through a holistic learning approach and well-planned co-curricular activities, students are encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and dare to try various opportunities, whether in terms of knowledge, skills or co-curricular activities.
“This includes involvement in innovative projects, and social activities as well as the exploration of new ideas that help hone critical thinking and problem solving skills.
“The confidence built through this experience makes UMPSA graduates more flexible, resilient and ready to face challenges in a competitive and constantly changing work environment,” he said.
According to Choong Wai Kit, their willingness to face new things with an open mind and desire to continue learning ensures that they are always relevant and able to compete in the job market.
“For example, I was entrusted with leading the Virtual Treasure Hunt 2.0 event: Mission Impossible which is the main event for IEM UMPSA Student Section and I single-handedly managed the entire event.
“With the efforts of each member, the event was successfully organised which involved more than 210 participants from more than 20 institutions and universities and it made the event with the most participation in recent years for the IEM UMP Student Section.
“Despite facing various challenges and problems, my life principle is to always think positively,” he said with a smile.
In fact, he also believes in never giving up in every difficult situation.
“Instead, we need to assess the situation wisely, taking into account the best and worst that can happen.
“By planning strategies for these two scenarios, I can prepare for any possibility that arises.
“Life often does not go as we expect, so be prepared to face various circumstances that not only help us reduce the risk of failure but also increase self-confidence,” he said.
It turned out that the approach managed to shape him to become a more mature person and prepare for the twists and turns of life more calmly.
After completing his convocation, he intends to find a job in Singapore and has now received several offers as a process engineer.
