UMPSA graduates need to have global mindset – urged Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari

GAMBANG, 27 October 2024 – The Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Tan Sri Dato Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari urged the graduands to become holistic and proficient individuals, ethical and having global thinking.

“Values such as integrity, social responsibility and soft skills need to be applied in every action so that the success would benefit the community.

“Make academic and professional achievements as a tool to benefit others in line with the demands of this world and hereafter,” he said.

He said this at the Third Session of the 19th UMPSA Convocation Ceremony, which took place at the UMPSA Sports Complex Hall of Gambang Campus.

At the ceremony, he presented the award of Bachelor’s Degree from the Faculty of Industrial Science and Technology (FSTI), Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM) and Faculty of Computing (FK), involving 994 graduands including 28 graduands for awards and prizes of excellence.

According to him, UMPSA is committed not only to academics but also to driving glory through academic networking and innovation.

“UMPSA, as one of the universities in the country’s best Malaysian Technical Universities Network (MTUN), shows the rapid development in various aspects in line with other local and international universities including through collaboration networking.

“Strategic collaboration such as with Mercedes-Benz is a high-impact step to improve the skills of graduates.

“Through exposure to international companies, students can enrich soft and technical skills in line with industry demands.

“UMPSA is committed to the community through various programmes such as Professor Turun Padang and Kilau Volunteer initiatives, initiatives that empower the community with knowledge and expertise,” he said.

He said that this programme not only makes the university a centre of excellence in knowledge but also an agent of social change.

Also present was the UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin.
