UMP collaborates with Istanbul Medipol University (IMU) and Ankara Medipol University (AMU)
TURKEY, July 7, 2022 - The collaboration between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and Istanbul Medipol University (IMU) and Ankara Medipol University (AMU) will strengthen the academic and research fields that will pave the way towards improving relations involving both higher education institutions from Malaysia and Turkey.
This collaboration focuses on student mobility and exchange programmes, appointment of visiting professors, research, teaching and collaboration which also involves awareness campaigns related to media literacy and UNESCO information with the community in Ankara.
The UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin today exchanged a memorandum of understanding (MoU) document with the Rector of Ankara Medipol University (AMU), Professor Ahmet Zeki Sengil witnessed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at a ceremony held in Ankara, Turkey.
Also present were the Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Industrial and Community Collaboration Division, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina Noordin and Deputy Rector of AMU, Professor Dr. Nevin Sanlier.
According to Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie, human capital development is a priority and this collaboration will also focus on co-publishing, organising seminars, staff and student exchange programmes.
The programme also involved the collaboration of dual degrees and involved programmes promoting the areas of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
“In an effort towards achieving university glory, UMP also focuses on education, research and high-level technology services driven by the community,” he said.
In addition, the collaboration involving the community aligns with the intention of the UMP Pro-Chancellor as the Royal Patron of UMP Volunteers, His Majesty the Regent of Pahang Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hasanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah in nourishing the volunteerism agenda at national and international levels.
UMP also focuses on producing graduates who are competent, competitive, and always ahead at the local and international levels.
