UMPSA receives the 2023 Low Carbon City Award

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) made history by receiving the 2023 Low Carbon City Award at the 2023 Malaysia Low Carbon City Award Ceremony. 

This award recognizes the continuous efforts and commitment of Local Authorities (PBT) and organizations in developing sustainable and low-carbon urban development.

The UMPSA Pekan Campus was honoured with the Zone Category Diamond recognition for achieving a remarkable 38.34 percent reduction in Greenhouse Gas emissions, equivalent to 4,705.16 tCO2. 

Meanwhile, the UMPSA Gambang Campus received the Partner Category Diamond Recognition for reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions by 20.66 percent, equivalent to 2,465.52 tCO2.

UMPSA recognised as No. 1 Technical University in Malaysia and
146th in the world

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) was recognised as the 146th best university in the world under the age of 50 by the Times Higher Education (the) Young University Rankings 2024. This achievement placed UMPSA in the 3rd position in Malaysia and in the first position among the Malaysian Technical Universities Network (MTUN).

The UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin said UMPSA is a university based on engineering and technology which is now 22 years old.

“The indicator of UMPSA’s strength is Research Quality.“The university focuses on applied research and industry projects with the local industry to enrich teaching and learning as well as promote the research products’ commercialisation activities.

“This achievement also proves that UMPSA is on the right track in line with the UMPSA Strategic Plan 2021-2025 in driving excellence to be on par with the leading universities in the world in general and in Malaysia in particular,” he said.

VC UMPSA speaks at China Conference (Heilongjiang) - Malaysia Higher Education Week 2024

The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin was invited to deliver a speech at the University President Roundtable Forum in conjunction with the China Conference (Heilongjiang) - Malaysia Higher Education Week 2024 which took place on 19 to 21 April 2024 at Northeast Petroleum University, Daqing recently.

He delivered a speech titled Fostering Innovation Through Educational Collaboration: Malaysia and China Partnership.

In addition to promoting UMPSA to higher education institutions in China, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie shared the collaboration that has been established between UMPSA and educational institutions and industry in China.
He said, the Confucius Institute (CI) at UMPSA is proof of UMPSA’s dedication to cultural integration.
