UMP and UMW Collaboration Plant 2,000 Mangrove Trees in Cherating

CHERATING, 13 May 2023 - With the goal of planting 300,000 mangrove trees by 2023 as part of the UMW Green Shoots Initiative (UGS), the UMW Group continues its planting activities in Cherating, Kuantan.

In collaboration with UMW Toyota Motor and its affiliate company, Perodua, the UMW Green Shoots Initiative is an effort by the group to address greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) issues.

PAYA BESAR, May 12, 2023 - The Riang Ria Raya event organized by Student Affairs and Alumni Department (JHEPA) was a blast with the presence of more than 7,000 students enthralled the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration this time.

The event was a collaboration between the Institute of Graduate Studies, Center for International Relations, support departments, UMP subsidiaries, UMP Advanced, UMP Holdings, and strategic partners, Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn. Bhd. (Adabi), and Koperasi UMP.

PEKAN, May 25, 2023 - A total of 24 staff members from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) will be performing the Hajj pilgrimage after receiving offers to fulfill the fifth pillar of Islam this year.

They were celebrated in a Majlis Doa Selamat (Blessing Ceremony) organized by the Registrar's Department, which took place recently at UMP Pekan.

PEKAN, 15 May 2023 - Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, 46, was appointed the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs and International) of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) effective 15 May 2023.

The appointment of Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs and International) by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) for three years effective 15 May 2023 to 14 May 2026.

UNITED KINGDOM, May 18, 2023 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) expands its reach by sharing its expertise in robotics literacy at the international level through the organization of the Robot Literacy Program with Community in Wales, Cardiff.

The program, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Industrial and Community Collaboration Division, UMP, Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Nurul Hazlina Noordin, was attended by 32 school students aged around 10 and 11 from around Wales Cardiff.

MELAKA, May 14, 2023 - A team from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) that introduced the Hand Obstacle Detector (HOD) prototype idea, focusing on developing assistive technology for the use of persons with disabilities (PWDs) during walking, won a consolation prize in the Technology and Innovation category at the National Micro Enterprise Pitching Competition (NMEPC) organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) in collaboration with the managing institution, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM).

Cleaning Pantai Pelindung, PSM CSR with Trash Hero Kuantan

KUANTAN, 13 May 2023 - A total of 65 UMP Kilau volunteers from the Centre for Mathematical Sciences (PSM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) among Foundation students, Bachelor of Data Analytics students and staff cleaned Pantai Pelindung area that visitors always frequent.

The programme, which was collaborated by a non-governmental organisation (NGO), Trash Hero Kuantan, managed to collect 213.3 kg of garbage around the beach.

This event served as the kick-off for the Program Gaya Hidup Sihat UMP 2023, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among the UMP community.
