UMPSA researchers develop RimauStrike and Spike Trainer to enhance National Sepak Takraw Training effectiveness

KUALA LUMPUR, 14 April 2026 — A group of researchers from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has successfully developed a sepak takraw ball launching machine named ‘RimauStrike’ and ‘Spike Trainer’, sports technologies designed to enhance the effectiveness and consistency of athletes’ training sessions.

The development and testing of the machines also involved strategic collaboration with the Malaysia Sepaktakraw Federation (PSM) and the Pahang Sports Council (MSP).

KUALA LUMPUR, 21 April 2026 — The 4th Sitting of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Student Parliament created history when, for the first time, it convened at the Malaysian Parliament Conference Hall recently.

The special sitting of the UMPSA Student Parliament provided an opportunity for 124 representatives to present views, ideas, and proposals professionally and ethically.

TSUKUBA, JAPAN, 16 April 2026 — Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), through its Department of Research and Innovation (JPI), paid a strategic working visit to the University of Tsukuba as part of its continued efforts to expand international collaboration in sports technology.

This initiative was driven by UMPSA’s Sports Technology Innovation Centre (STIC), a Centre of Excellence (CoE) under JPI dedicated to advancing research and innovation in sports-related technologies.

TOKYO, JAPAN, 15 April 2026 — Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), through its Department of Research and Innovation (Jabatan Penyelidikan dan Inovasi, JPI), paid a visit to the Institute of Science Tokyo as part of its ongoing efforts to expand international collaboration in sports technology.

At the centre of this initiative is UMPSA’s Sports Technology Innovation Centre (STIC), a Centre of Excellence (CoE) under JPI that focuses on advancing research and development in sports-related technologies.

KUANTAN, 11 April 2026 — In line with Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah’s (UMPSA) aspiration to cultivate holistic graduates and contribute meaningfully to community development, the ‘LeAdventure Camp: Excellence Leadership Training Camp’ was successfully organised through a strategic collaboration between the Mandarin Language Society (MLS), Centre for Modern Languages (CML), UMPSA, and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Pei Chai, Kuantan.
