UMP sends volunteers to focus on clean-up operations and aid distribution

MENTAKAB, 27 December 2021 - Focusing on clean-up operations and aid distribution, 100 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) volunteers spent two days to help clean up students’ houses and neighbourhoods in Taman Mentakab Indah which were badly affected by the recent floods.

Realising the problem of water disruption in flood-affected locations, UMP also brought seven water tanks belonging to the university to carry out cleaning work.

UMP students use Adab@UMP cash coupon app Food@Campus

KUANTAN, 29 December 2021 - In line with the university’s aspiration towards a digital campus, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students will adapt the UMP Kasih facility, namely Meal Coupons for students who are in need, using the Adab@UMP app to enable eligible students to get free food from the campus cafeteria.

There are nine initiatives or coupons available under Food@Campus Malaysian Family UMP Family.

More than 300 UMP volunteers help clean up flood waste

KUANTAN, 28 December 2021 - The post-flood volunteer activities that took place recently at Perumahan Awam Kos Rendah (PAKR) Sungai Pandan Taman Bukit Rangin Aman focused on cleaning in the house and the vicinity due to the pile of rubbish in front of the house which risks threatening the health of the residents.

‘Yo’ service remembered, receives award from UMP

KUANTAN, 27 December 2021 - Two individuals named ‘Yo’ received an award from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) for their services and sacrifices after rescuing a family of flood victims living in Tanah RTK Ekonomi Sri Damai in the recent flood disaster in Pahang.

50 joined Post-Flood Volunteer Mission in Mentakab

MENTAKAB, 26 December 2021 - Sludge and muddy water were like an ocean of ‘teh tarik’ in several flood locations in Mentakab.

Various stories were shared by the residents when they realised that the flood water had hit the roofs of their houses in Taman Mentakab Indah last Saturday.

UMP volunteers continue to provide assistance for flood victims

KUANTAN, 25 December 2021 - More than 500 volunteers comprising staff and students from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) have been caring for flood victims in the state since the extreme flood event last week.

UMP assistance now focuses on sending volunteers for clean-up work and providing basic daily necessities assistance to the flood victims especially those involving the staff and families of affected students.

Unsung heroes ‘Yo’ save flood victims

KUANTAN, 24 December 2021 - Two individuals named ‘Yo’ were heroes for the residents of Taman Sri Damai Aman when they managed to save Hanafi Muhamad Yusoff’s family who lives in a nearby village.

They were clinging to a banana tree when the current was strong and when their boat got stuck in the ropes caused them to be stranded for almost 40 minutes against the strong current while carrying out this family.

Journal Quality and Ecosystem initiative helps support UMP 25 Strategic Plan

PEKAN, 27 January 2022 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Press, through the UMP Journal Quality and Ecosystem initiative, is taking steps and strategies in supporting the UMP 25 Strategic Plan, which targets a significant increase in UMP-issued journals in the world’s prestigious bibliographic database by 2025.

The event held at the Executive Lounge, UMP Pekan Library, aimed to provide a holistic view of the goals and objectives of the initiative.

German Ambassador’s visit to UMP strengthens bilateral good relations

PEKAN, 26 January, 2022 - The visit by the German Ambassador to Malaysia, TYT Dr. Peter Blomeyer to Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) strengthened the 12 years of academic collaboration between Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and German educational institutions in developing the German engineering education model (Fachhochschule) in the country’s technical education system.
