UMP researcher received CRDF2 grant of RM 1.06 million

KUANTAN, 13 September 2021 - Professor. Dr. Arun Gupta from Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, UMP received CRDF2 funding of RM 1.06 million from Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) for the commercialization of Bioactive keratin protein. 

It is the first time, a researcher from UMP has been awarded CRDF2 funding. The other members of the project are Professor Dato’ Dr. Rosli Mohd Yunus and UMPT.

PEKAN, 26 August 2021 - The challenge of detecting odours manually by odour experts is not a new thing.

Realising that, a researcher and senior lecturer from the Faculty of Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Associate Professor Dr. Muhammad Sharfi Najib, 45, has invented an odour detection device known as e-Anfun or electronic nose.

PEKAN, 26 Ogos 2021- Cabaran mengesan bau yang dijalankan oleh pakar bau secara manual selama ini bukanlah satu perkara yang baharu. 

Menyedari akan hal itu, penyelidik dan pensyarah kanan dari Fakulti Teknologi Kejuruteraan Pembuatan dan Mekatronik (FTKPM), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Profesor Madya Dr. Muhammad Sharfi Najib, 45 telah menghasilkan peranti pengesanan bau yang dikenali sebagai e-Anfun atau hidung elektronik.

Ts. Dr. Mohd Azrul Hisham creates a tool to monitor physiological parameters of baby’s health

GAMBANG, 2 August 2021 - A researcher and Senior Lecturer from College of Engineering (KKEJ), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Ts. Dr. Mohd Azrul Hisham Mohd Adib, 38, invented a device to monitor the physiological parameters of a baby’s health or known as the InfaWrap Device.

According to the Taiping, Perak native, the product is intended to measure newborns’ heart rate, oxygen level (SpO2), and body temperature.

GAMBANG, 2 Ogos 2021 – Penyelidik dan Pensyarah Kanan, Kolej Kejuruteraan (KKEJ), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Ts. Dr. Mohd Azrul Hisham Mohd Adib, 38 berjaya mencipta satu alat pemantauan parameter fisiologi kesihatan bayi atau lebih mudah dikenali sebagai InfaWrap Device. 

Menurut anak jati kelahiran Taiping Perak ini, produk yang dihasilkan adalah bertujuan untuk mengukur bacaan kadar denyutan jantung dan tahap oksigen (SpO2) serta suhu badan bagi bayi yang baharu dilahirkan. 

UMP research on COVID-19 genome published for world reference

KUANTAN, 19 July 2021 - The study by Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) with the COVID-19 Host Genetics Initiative on human genome sequencing titled Mapping the Human Genetic Architecture of COVID-19 is now published in Nature, which reveals the findings of 13 human genome loci associated with COVID-19 infection worldwide.

These include six loci that are not reported in previous COVID-19 human genomic studies.
