Nurul daughter of tailor recipient of Telekom Excellence Award

KUANTAN, 17 March 2020 - Her mother’s tenacity and perseverance became the driving force and inspiration for Nurul Md Yunus, 26, who was selected to receive the Telekom Malaysia Berhad Excellence Award at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 15th Convocation Ceremony recently.

The Bachelor of Applied Science in Material Technology with Honours graduand said her mother’s determination to make a living by sewing clothes to raise her four siblings made her excel in her study.

PAYA BESAR, 8 November 2022 - “Quality exposure, knowledge and evaluation are tickets for us to open up more opportunities for success in the future,” said Fatrus Bahari, 45, recipient of the Lifelong Learning Award (PSH), UMP Advanced at the UMP 17th Convocation Ceremony.

Fatrus Bahari said although some argue that now academic qualifications are not everything, formal education recognised by higher education institutions (IPT) is important to be more advanced and competitive in the future.

Dream comes true, UMP Advanced graduand receives PSH Award

PAYA BESAR, 5 November 2022 - The dream of a TNB Engineering Executive was finally achieved when he successfully obtained a degree of B.Eng (Hons.) Electrical Engineering (Electronics) - Part Time, UMP Advanced.

According to Mohd Rohani Awang, 44, he comes from an underprivileged family and has many siblings.

“At first, I only attended school until standard six, but I cried and begged my two stepbrothers and late grandmother to continue to form one,” said this Pahang-born man.

Vice-Chancellor Awards goes to Rashwini

PAYA BESAR, 5 November 2022 – Being active in co-curriculum and association at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) is not an excuse for being left behind in study.

This is evidenced by Rashwini d/o Balasuntram, 26, a graduand of B. Eng (Hons.) Chemical Engineering who received the Vice-Chancellor Award at the recent UMP 17th Convocation Ceremony.

The daughter of the couple Manjulah Radakrishnan and Balasuntram Balaraman said, time management is crucial in achieving success.

UMP convocation officially ends, 12,174 graduands celebrated throughout 2022

PAYA BESAR, 8 November 2022 - The Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Convocation Ceremony successfully celebrated 12,174 graduands this year through the organisation of three ceremonies involving graduands from 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The UMP 15th Convocation Ceremony (MKK15) saw 3,556 graduands celebrated from 16 to 20 March 2022 at the Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, Kuantan, following the standard operating procedures (SOPs) due to COVID-19.

Graduand aggrieved, unable to fulfill grandmother’s wish to celebrate convocation

PAYA BESAR, 6 November 2022 – While other graduands rejoiced at the presence of parents and family members at the convocation ceremony, it was the opposite for the graduand of Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health with Honours, Nur Shafiqah Zakaria, 25, who was aggrieved when her late grandmother’s desire to see her receive her degree at the recent UMP 17th Convocation Ceremony was unfulfilled.
