UMPSA ranks 588th in QS World University Rankings 2027, best university in MTUN

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) continues to strengthen its position as the best university among the Malaysia Technical University Network (MTUN) through its outstanding achievement in the QS World University Rankings 2027.

In the rankings announced today by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), UMPSA was ranked 588th in the world, improving from 609th last year.

The achievement also placed UMPSA eighth among public universities and 15th among higher education institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia.

The UMPSA Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ts. Dr. Yatimah Alias, said the achievement is a recognition of the collective efforts of the entire university community, which has continuously strived to improve the quality of education, advance innovation, and produce globally competitive graduates.

UMPSA leads strategic CAuto–Feytech partnership to develop future automotive talent

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has strengthened its commitment to industry-driven education through a strategic collaboration between the Consortium Automotive of Malaysian Universities (CAuto) and Feytech Sdn. Bhd., marking an important step towards developing future-ready talent for Malaysia’s automotive industry.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) exchange ceremony, held at the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), brought together representatives from government, academia and industry in a shared effort to strengthen the nation’s automotive talent ecosystem amid rapid developments in electric vehicles (EVs), smart manufacturing, digitalisation and artificial intelligence.

Led by UMPSA and co-led by Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), CAuto unites five of Malaysia’s leading technical and technological universities – UMPSA, UTeM, Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) – under a common agenda of advancing talent development, applied research and industry engagement.

UMPSA strengthens regional academic collaboration through strategic partnership with Universitas Tanjungpura

A recent visit by a delegation from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Tanjungpura (UNTAN), Indonesia, to the Centre for Modern Languages (CML), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) on 28 April 2026 has laid the foundation for a strategic academic partnership encompassing postgraduate education, research, academic mobility and international scholarly engagement.

The delegation comprising Associate Dean I for Academic Affairs and Coordinator of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education Programme, Dr. Urai Salam, Coordinator of the Master of Educational Technology Programme, Dr. Venny Karolina and Coordinator of the Bachelor of Education (English Language Education) Programme, Dr. Yanti Sri Rezeki was welcomed by CML UMPSA to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two institutions. 

As part of the programme, Dr. Venny Karolina and Dr. Urai Salam shared their experiences as recipients of grants awarded by the A.S. Hornby Educational Trust, offering practical insights into securing international research funding, developing competitive grant proposals, establishing international research collaborations, and identifying funding opportunities in English language education.
