15 Management and Professional Talent Enhancement Special Programme graduands receive MBA

PAYA BESAR, 5 November 2022 - Working and pursuing master’s study simultaneously is not an obstacle for 15 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) staff to complete the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme on a part-time basis which was first offered specially for UMP staff.

The UMP 17th Convocation Ceremony saw 15 pilot MBA programme students receive their master’s degrees from the UMP Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor on the first day of the convocation ceremony.

Dr. Sreenath Sukumaran and Shafiqah receive UMP Postgraduate Research Prize

PAYA BESAR, 5 November 2022 – Dr. Sreenath Sukumaran, 29 and Shafiqah Hanis Mohd Fauzi, 26, were overjoyed to receive the UMP Postgraduate Research Award at the recent Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 17th Convocation Ceremony.

They were thrilled because the challenges faced throughout the learning process, especially as the world faced the COVID-19 pandemic, were deeply felt.

Wong Yoke Bing receives the Academic Excellence Prize of the President of the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)

PAYA BESAR, 6 November 2022 – Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) graduand Wong Yoke Bing received the Presidential Award of Academic Excellence from the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) at the UMP 17th Convocation Ceremony held at the UMP Sports Complex Hall.

Wong Yoke Bing is a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Honors) graduate from the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology (FTKKP) with a CGPA of 3.97.

Disability did not prevent Nor Shafiqah and Nabil Lutfi from achieving their dreams

PAYA BESAR, 8 November 2022 – Being disabled and possessing a Person With Disability (PWD) card do not prevent students from pursuing further education at the university or having a career.

For Nor Shafiqah Nor Mizan, 22, the most important thing is to give one’s best.

As a Diploma of Computer Science graduand, she received a scroll from the UMP Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin at the UMP 17th Convocation Ceremony.

Athirah Seng Kaning receives Excellence Award from Dimension BID Sdn. Bhd.

PAYA BESAR, 6 November 2022 – A labourer’s daughter, Athirah Seng Kaning, 23 received the Excellence Award from Dimension BID Sdn. Bhd. at the UMP 17th Convocation Ceremony held at the UMP Sports Complex Hall.

Athirah was a graduand of Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Material Technology from the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FSTI), and her resolve to change the fate of her family kept her going through her study.

UMP graduand ‘Budin’ moved by a surprise from noble-hearted lecturer

PAYA BESAR, 8 November 2022 – A Facebook post went viral and captured the attention and heart of many netizens when a lecturer shared his excitement in surprising his student Muhamad Syihabuddin Abdul Wahab, fondly known as ‘Budin’, to celebrate the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 17th Convocation Ceremony recently.

Ts. Dr. Mohamad Zairi Baharom, a lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology, said his post on Facebook was originally just to share his joy with the student.

Chong Jia Xin receives Pro-Chancellor Award

PAYA BESAR, 5 November 2022 – A mechanic’s daughter, Chong Jia Xin, 25, who is a graduate of the Bachelor of Electronics Engineering Technology (Computer System) with Honours was selected as the recipient of the Pro-Chancellor Award at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 17th Convocation Ceremony.

The recognition was delivered by the Pro-Chancellor, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Abi Musa Asa’ari Mohamed Nor at the UMP Sports Complex Hall.

NST journalist receives master’s degree from UMP

PAYA BESAR, 5 November 2022 - Having time constraints for family and uncertain work times has caused Alagesh s/o Theruvarul Nathan, 42, to postpone his desire to further his study at a higher level for several times.

However, the reporter for the News Straits Times (NST) in Kuantan said that thanks to the support from family members, it is easier for him to juggle his time between his career, everyday life and family.
