UMP MyPerahu app empowers fishermen’s socioeconomic and ecotourism activities

PEKAN, 7 September 2022 – A group of lecturers from the Faculty of Computing (FK), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has developed the MyPerahu mobile app as one of the measures to empower socioeconomic and ecotourism in the fishing community.

The Mobile Recreational Fisheries Application for Fishermen (MyPerahu) is currently being used by fishermen in Setiu as one of the pilot projects of the University for Society (KPT-U4S) programme by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT-U4S).

UMP, IMPACT MALAYSIA seal collaboration of Youth and Community Innovation programme

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 September 2022 - Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) and IMPACT MALAYSIA are working together on technology, community and business impact that enables collaborative interaction between various stakeholders through all programmes to be implemented.

The programmes outlined include IMPACT tour, political literacy, community heroes and the design of thoughts and ideas in the community.

Soo Mann Sian receives the Vice-Chancellor Award, gift for parents

KUANTAN, 17 March 2022 - It must be the dream of every graduand to attend the Convocation Ceremony after years of studying and receive an award at the 15th UMP Convocation Ceremony.

However, with the constraints of her mother’s ailment, Soo Mann Sian, 26, was willing to forgo attending the convocation ceremony to take care of her mother, who has cancer.

She was the recipient of the Vice-Chancellor Award and said that her mother’s health was more important than everything else.

Bicara Perwira injects appreciation to police

UMP Prihatin closes tie with Sungai Koyan community

PAHANG,  24 August 2022 – Three days in Felda Sungai Koyan, Jerantut, provided sweet memories for 30 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students who participated in Kembara UMP Prihatin with the Sungai Koyan Community recently.

This Keluarga Malaysia-based programme involved communities of all ages.

Kembara UMP Prihatin serves Kapit community

KAPIT, 24 August 2022 - Kembara Prihatin Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) organised by Yayasan UMP in collaboration with Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM), Bintulu successfully realised the concept of #KeluargaMalaysia when 52 volunteers served the community of Rumah Panjang Diau Anak Lumut Pulau Raya in Kapit from 19 to 25 August 2022.

The participants comprised 30 staff and students of IKM Bintulu and 22 UMP staff, students and alumni.
