UMP associates instil patriotism in their hearts

Pekan, 10 September 2020 – The Independence Day on 31 August is the most anticipated date for instilling patriotism among the people of this country with its melting pot of races and religions. 

Although the glorious day of 31 August has passed over a week ago and it has been six decades since our independence, the occasion continues to be celebrated modestly in various unique ways that reflect the Malaysian identity. Not to mention the upcoming Malaysia Day that will be celebrated on 16 September.

Syahir, Kamariah named Best Athletes

Kuantan, 28 August 2020 - The staff of the Centre for Sports and Culture, Syahir Ahmad Termizi, 26 was named the recipient of the Sports Award for the Best Male Athlete category at Majlis Apresiasi in conjunction with the Quality & Innovation Day 2020 at the Sports Complex, UMP Gambang Campus recently.
Meanwhile, the Best Female Athlete was won by Kamariah Peah from the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA).
They took home a cash prize of RM1,000.00, a trophy and a certificate.

Dr. Nur Farhayu produces lightweight concrete panels from coal waste

15 September 2020 - A researcher of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Dr. Nur Farhayu Ariffin, 33, has used 100% waste from coal power plants to produce lightweight concrete panels. 

According to her, this waste consists of coal bottom ash and fly ash. 

“Coal bottom ash is used to replace the use of stone and sand while fly ash is used to replace 20 percent cement.
