36 SPM leavers are excited to be at UMP

A total of 36 SPM leavers along with five teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Chiku 2, Gua Musang experienced the campus life in Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) on 3 December 2019. This two-day and one-night programme provided them with the boost to create success and path to university. According to Zainuddin Yusof, the Principal of SMK Chiku 2, the programme was aimed to expose the students in choosing the right course in the institutes of higher learning (IHL) in line with their SPM results.

Commemorating Maulidur Rasul

Muslims need to learn and commemorate Maulidur Rasul and the struggle endured by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in upholding the Islamic law. The narration of the personality of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who always practised moderation must be embodied in daily life. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Professor Dato’ Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin said that the sacrifice of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his companions blessed us with Iman and Islam today.

UMP ranked 134th in Asia

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) achieved a remarkable accomplishment when ranked at 134th spot in Asia in the recently released QS Asia University Rankings 2020.The continuous climb in five consecutive years also makes UMP as the first university in the Malaysian Technological University Network (MTUN) to place itself in the 150 best universities in Asia.UMP had climbed 54 spots this year from 188th last year.

UMP students responsibly elect leaders

The students of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) are now more mature in choosing their representatives.There was a change in the campus political landscape when the election was run fully by a committee comprising students solely.

The chairman of the Student Election Council 2019/2020, Mohamed Al-Fateh Ab Razak was relieved when the election run smoothly at both the UMP Gambang and Pekan campuses on 28 November 2019.

MTUN – Industry smart partnership produce technical expert

Malaysia Technical University Network (MTUN) is urged to continue working with the industry to ensure research output is beneficial to address industry related issues. According to Deputy Director General, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Professor Dr. Mohd Cairul Iqbal Mohd Amin, universities smart partnership particularly with MTUN should be intensified to encourage the industry to conduct research studies using the university's expertise and equipment as practiced in developed countries.
