40 undergraduates, 500 school students explored the world of engineering in UMP

Some 500 school students from Kuantan and Pekan got to experience what it took to be an engineer during an event called ‘Engineering Day’ organised by Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) Mechanical Engineering Professional Student Club (MECHAPRO) that was held at Pekan Campus on November 23, 2018.

Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) alumnus Heziwan Hamsah, 32, did not at all fancy being an engineer when he was small but eventually, the profession became his livelihood because of his deep concern over the environment.

Positive and focus are the keys to success - Yong Shi Yun, Recipient of Srikandi Matahari Award

Being positive and focused were the keys to success, said Yong Shi Yun, 24, who received the Srikandi Matahari Award at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) 13th Convocation Ceremony held at its Gambang Campus Sports Complex on November 10 and 11, 2018.

Shi Yun obtained her B.Eng. (Hons.) Electrical Engineering (Electronics) and is now an engineer at Intel Corporation.

Daughter to Yong Siew Kee, 57, and Chan Yoke Fong, 54, Shi Yun said she had set a goal to do well in her studies and was happy to be able to achieve it by scoring a CGPA of 3.85.
