PEKAN, 18 August 2025 – Looking at coffee waste, the by-product of the brewing process increasingly produced by Malaysians who drink an average of 2.38 cups of coffee a day (totalling around 3 billion cups daily) and generating about 100 tonnes of coffee waste per day, a team of researchers from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) led by lecturer from the Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA), Associate Professor Ir. Dr. Chin Siew Choo, has produced Brewcrete.

PEKAN, 11 August 2025 – The issue of the accumulation of old block waste in small oyster mushroom farms in Malaysia is becoming increasingly concerning, as most of this waste is either burned or left in open areas, which not only causes environmental pollution but also attracts pests that can disrupt farm operations.

KUALA LUMPUR, 13 August 2025 – Three educational technology innovations from Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) became the focus of visitors when exhibited at the ASEAN TVET Conference 2025 held at the World Trade Centre (WTC) here.

Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, also took the time to visit UMPSA’s booth at the exhibition.

PEKAN, 18 Ogos 2025 – Proses pengekstrakan unsur nadir bumi (REEs) daripada pekatan lantanid di Malaysia menghasilkan sisa radioaktif yang dikenali sebagai Water Leach Purification (WLP) yang mengandungi thorium pada kadar yang tinggi, kira-kira 6.7 Bq/g, iaitu jauh melebihi had selamat yang ditetapkan sebanyak 1 Bq/g.

Pekan, 18 Ogos 2025 – Melihat kepada sisa buangan kopi iaitu hasil sampingan daripada proses membancuh semakin banyak dihasilkan oleh rakyat Malaysia yang minum purata 2.38 cawan kopi sehari (berjumlah kira-kira 3 bilion cawan harian) dan menghasilkan sekitar 100 tan sisa kopi sehari, sepasukan penyelidik Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) yang diketuai oleh pensyarah Fakulti Teknologi Kejuruteraan Awam (FTKA), Profesor Madya Ir. Dr. Chin Siew Choo telah menghasilkan Brewcrete.

Timbalan Perdana Menteri Malaysia, Yang Amat Berhormat, Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, turut meluangkan masa mengunjungi reruai UMPSA pada pameran tersebut.
