Yayasan UMP call thought to be scammer

Kuantan, 26 October 2020 - “I thought it was a call from a scammer when I got a phone call from Yayasan UMP saying I was chosen to receive Yayasan UMP Matriculation Excellence Incentive.” This statement was expressed by the new Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) student, Fatin Ayu Kartika Mohd Suzaki, 20, who initially doubted the authenticity of the call she received from Yayasan UMP staff.

Dr. Wan Isni Sofiah develops algorithm for saving battery usage in sensor nodes

Kuantan, 26 October 2020 - Batteries are an important element for wireless sensor nodes to perform the process of sending and transmitting data.

If the algorithm to minimise battery usage is not emphasised, the lifespan of a sensor will be short and not functioning properly especially when used in areas without electricity supply such as for forest monitoring operations, earthquake signals, crops in farms, and military activities in the forest area.

UMP receives UMPH zakat

Kuantan, 22 October 2020 – UMP Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (UMPH) presented zakat to Yayasan UMP of RM5,000, 20% returns from business zakat for 2019.
 
Present to deliver the zakat is the UMPH Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Syed Mohamad Hamzah Al-Junid to the UMP Dean of Student Services, Student Affairs and Alumni Department, Associate Professor Dr. Mansor Sulaiman of the Yayasan UMP Management Committee.

Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman appointed as Chairman, Board of Directors UMP

Pekan, 26 October 2020 - Tan Sri Dato' Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman was appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) for three years effective from 19 October 2020 to 18 October 2023.

The appointment was made by the Minister of Higher Education, Dato' Dr. Noraini Ahmad in accordance with the provisions of Section 17 (1) (a) of the University Constitution.

The new norm of MINDS UMP is broadcast online

Pekan, 18 October 2020 - A total of 30 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students successfully implemented the Student Induction Week 2020 (MINDS '20) program which took place online from 14 to 18 October recently involving a total of 2,110 new students for the registration session 2020/2021.

Starting with work in August, this group of students began their work with the search for moderators and facilitators and began planning work in full swing in September.

Off-campus students receive food donation from YaPEIM and UMP

Pekan, 15 October 2020 - A total of 200 Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) students who live off-campus and cannot return to their hometowns received food donations in the Foodbank 2.0 programme organised by the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM).
The aid was handed over by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs & Alumni), Professor Dato’ Ts. Yuserrie Zainuddin and Pahang YaPEIM Manager, Nor Khalilah Hanaim Abdul Hamid.
